The EveryMeasure charts utilize downsampling to efficiently navigate large data sets. Users can specify the downsampling method and the Number of samples to retrieve.
Each time the chart is refreshed, a new dataset is generated for each measure containing the specified Number of samples using the selected downsampling method. The EveryMeasure chart is refreshed every time a user pans, zooms, or selects a new time range.
- Increasing the number of samples increases the chart fidelity, but requires more time to process and transfer the data and results in slower chart performance.
- Decreasing the number of samples will improve load times and chart performance, but provide less detailed results.
If the the Number of samples requested exceeds the actual number of samples in the selected time range all samples will be returned and no downsampling is applied.
